Its been some time since Google
announced that it will taking down the Twitter-like service, Buzz, it
started some time ago. Even though its a Google service and was
integrated pretty nice into GMail, it dint take down Twitter by even a
small percentage. While the number of users using Twitter are
increasing, the number for Buzz is decreasing. I dont think much people
are using Buzz directly. I have just connected my Twitter account to
Buzz so that each of Tweets gets reflected on my Buzz account as well.
Google is now shutting down and
changing a few of its services. The company has changed the user
interface on almost all its services, and Google has also decided to take down Reader as
well. On the same lines, Buzz is also going down in a few weeks. If you
have been a power user of the tool, you will miss it for sure. But, you
still can have all the Buzz posts you have done till now. How is that?
Well, Google offers two solutions. You will still have it on your Google Profile.
But if you dont want it and want to have a local copy of all your Buzz
posts on your hard drive, Google provides you that option as well. You
can download it using Takeout
(Takeaway). Here, you can select the Google services that you want to
archive. All the data that you want to download will be downloaded as a
file to your hard drive.
Hope this works. If you have any doubt, feel free to leave a comment.
